WILD CHAIN ESTE SÁBADO DE LA MANO DE CARMINA BURANA CON ROTA FORTUNAE.

WILD CHAIN, nos traen "Rota Fortunae" La banda de heavy metal formada por miembros de las míticas bandas Cadena perpetua, Wild Forest y Urbe, presentan un concierto-espectáculo basado en los "Carmina Burana", manuscritos encontrados en la abadía Benediktbeuern en Baviera, dentro del Festival de Música Antigua de Sevilla FeMAS. 

Wild Chain propone un programa claramente diferenciado con dos formas de afrontar el repertorio: Los "Carmina Burana", respetando las melodías y textos originales con instrumentación de la época, como la zanfoña o la gaita medieval, con la adaptación a instrumentos eléctricos de una banda de Metal. Y por otro lado, con temas originales, basados en la temática que originalmente cantaban los monjes goliardos o cleros chivagantes, que la banda ha compuesto para la ocasión.

Wild Chain se propone acercar la música antigua a los seguidores del rock y metal, y así mismo el metal a los seguidores de la música antigua, haciendo un concierto dinámico y lleno de energía que no dejará a nadie indiferente.

Junto a la robustez musical que desplegaran los cinco miembros de Wild Chain sobre el escenario, se unirán a la banda José Manuel Vaquero (Pájaro) a la zanfoña y organetto, Juan Jiménez a las gaitas medievales y flautas, las grandes voces de Txaco Jones, Alba Fernández y Ángel Martinez, además del coro clásico, que harán las delicias y la unión del público clásico y metálico.

La cita será el 7 de Marzo a las 21 horas en el Teatro Alameda de Sevilla. Precio único, 10 euros.

mochuEGO. Ave de rapiña y cerveza, ego con patas y ojos vidriosos.  Un concierto no son sólo los temas que se tocan, un concierto es un relato.

Sé que no estuviste en el concierto de The Mutants el pasado viernes de 14 de marzo en Madrid (9 euros la entrada). Casi he empezado a dudar de que el concierto haya tenido realmente lugar. No por los efectos colaterales de un gasto mayor al recomendado por los economistas del FMI para una economía media en cerveza, 3,5 euros el tercio de Mahou –en pleno don de la ebriedad me hice con una copia de Grave Groove, 2008, en CD (10 euros) y de una camiseta XS (15 euros) de chica (no me llevé una XXL para mí porque, según asentimos el pipa de la banda y yo en un inglés pobre, el mío, y etílico, el de ambos, los gordos tenemos mayor tendencia a escuchar buena música y hacerlo público en nuestros acolchados pechos, hecho que provoca escasez de mercancía). No, lo sé porque asistimos once personas. En esos once cuento a los camareros, al de la mesa de sonido y al dueño/encargado del garito.

Si soy estricto, seis. Seis toros, seis, para una noche surfera de viernes.

Puestos a suponer, ni los conocerás a ellos. The Mutants  es una banda de surf con toques setenteros, horror, espaciales, tarantinescos que se autodefine como Afro-garage mambo (signifique esto lo que signifique) formada por seis miembros. Doble percusión, batería y tambores, bajo y una, dos o tres guitarras -uno de los guitarras la alterna con el teclado, el otro con el saxofón (puedes escucharlos en directo al final de la crónica).

En Madrid, el saxofón estuvo como el público, ausente.

Volvamos a Wurlitzer Ballroom (la hora de comienzo se postergaba con la ingenua esperanza de que, ya que los vivos parecían más interesados en otras cosas, los muertos se levantasen de sus tumbas, como en tantos grandes temas surf y horror, y sacudieran sus esqueletos al son afro-garage mambo, por lo que se pudo comprobar no sólo los poemas de amor, los padres y las religiones mienten, también mienten las canciones sobre la agitada vida nocturna de los cadáveres)… volvamos a la cerveza.

Porque de eso fue el concierto: de cerveza. Cuando finalmente subieron al escenario, en lo que podría haber sido perfectamente un partido de vóleibol seis para seis sin red pero con árbitros y aguadores, se portaron, fueron profesionales (signifique eso también lo que signifique).

Nos dieron una hora y cuarto de ensayo entregado y experto en la secuenciación de las canciones y los ritmos. Puedo traducir esa palabrería en que pegué brincos como si una rata me mordiera los testículos, mientras mi pareja se lamentaba por haber abandonado las clases de guitarra y trataba de que no me descoyuntara. Cosas de la cerveza y del surf.

Será por emoción a flor de piel que implica la mucha cerveza, pero acogí la última canción (la que podéis escuchar justo aquí debajo) como una emocionada dedicatoria; como una quinceañera lúbrica comprendí que era toda para mí. Carlos Muchas Cervezas es al mismo tiempo el protagonista, efecto de identificación y resumen de la noche, una canción que te llega a las entrañas: al hígado.

I DARK DRAKKAR PAGANFEST: Viking/ folk/ pagan festival in Granada this weekend!

The I DARK DRAKKAR PAGANFEST comes up from 4 The Metal Productions as a tribute to Dark Drakkar, black metal band from Santa Fe (Granada), who, with their demo "La Creación" (1996), became viking metal precursors in Spain and one of the first bands of the genre globally speaking. The festival will be 

dedicated to these styles, folk, viking and pagan metal. 

Interesting line-up, with the following bands:

FÄNGÖRN, from Russia with love, and for the first time in Spain with their folk/epic metal. 

CRYSTALMOORS: from Cantabria, one of the best bands of the country in their genre, presenting their new album, "Circle Of The Five Serpents".

PIMEÄ METSÄ: the band from Madrid come with some of the tracks included in their upcoming album (to be released soon) on their setlist.

MÖRRIGHAN: a young band from Córdoba who blends metal and Celtic music.

Among the 24 bands who took part, only 3 of them, by popular vote, got to the final of the contest “QueroStar en Castelo Son”, where specialized judges chose MaldiA last Saturday as the band that will open the festival Castelo Son next 23rd of August in Culleredo.

PINK CREAM 69: One date in Spain to present "Ceremonial"

Six years later PINK CREAM 69 will be back for their only and exclusive show in Spain! After "In10sity" the German hard rockers come back with "Ceremonial" (Frontiers Records).  Rich, clean AOR sound with a perfect heavier, harder touch. 

Formed in 1987 by Andi Deris, Alfred Koffler, Kosta Zafiriou and Dennis Ward, they had an early success with their first album "Pink Cream 69", mainly in Germany and always-exigent Japan. After Andi left to Helloween, David Readman took his place on the vocals until now, debuted with "Change" and soon took charge with the band and the direction marked by its evolution. 

In 2007 there were several changes in the line-up, being one of them current guitarist Uwe Reitenauer joining the band; their long-awaited come back album was edited: "In10sity". Early this year, with Chris Schmidt on the drums, they presented "Ceremonial", probably their most diverse and origianl album to the date. 

"The songs have required their time, we wanted them to be 100% perfect. This has given us the chance to experiment in order to get the best possible result", says bassist and producer Dennis Ward.

Explosive and energetic "Land Of Confusion", contemporary rocky "Wasted Years", biographic "I Came To Rock" and the greatly 90s-heavy-influenced "Find Your Soul" are all good tokens of this new sound, little shiny diamonds that stand out on a biography full of success and great hits.

"I've been involved in several projects these last years, but recording 'Ceremonial' has been like coming back home", comments David Readman.

A perfect album for all hard rock and AOR true lovers, complete and with a fresh, exciting, new sound!!

HELLSINGLAND UNDERGROUND: First time in Spain

Since the band started, HELLSINGLAND UNDERGROUND's goal has been creating music with depth and longevity. The rumours about the group started in summer 2006 after their first soncert in the forests of Hãlsingland, Sweden. A myth that has been growing with every new album. The first critics celebrated the band's songs, their revealing, their harmonies and the pure and simple pleasure of playing their music, showing you can be serious without being conceited. 

Their debut in 2008 meant a love affair with all those common influences from American southern rock, which were confirmed on the following "Madness & Grace" in 2010, consolidating as well their own identity. A path that has led to "Evil Will Prevail", which shows the band's zenit with more personal and darker lyrics, and more genuine arrangements without setting aside the southern trace.

Like late Hellacopters that would have replaced MC5's legacy for Skynyrd's and Allman Bros.', or more traditional but as melodically inspired The Soundtrack Of Our Lives, Hellsingland Underground continue the tradition of great rock n'roll bands that Scandinavian countries have given us in the last decade.

In September 2013 they'll come to Spain for the first time to keep building their legend; who knows if sometime soon we'll be talking about them as a reference band from the endless Swedish source.

The English festival BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR holds a new edition this weekend, from August 8th to 11th. MÚSICOS EN LA NATURALEZA this weekend!!

We remind you Ávila's festival MÚSICOS EN LA NATURALEZA will hold its eighth edition this Saturday. Here you have the poster and soem information we gave you in past days but we want to refresh fro you, now that the event is coming closer:

The festival is having extraordinary headliners this year, nothing less than DEEP PURPLE, whose line-up, after Jon Lord's passing, consists on Roger Glover, Ian Paice, Steve Morse y Don Airey. Besides, this will be their only show in Spain, so don't miss this so-called "Made In Gredos" (from the area in which it takes place).

To support them on this evening of music and nature, the artists chosen are one of the big personalities of Spanish rock, LOQUILLO, who will be presenting his album "La Nave de los Locos", within the "De Vez en Cuando y Para Siempre" Tour; and Bebe, with her album "Un Poquito de Rock and Roll". 

The festival will be at the Finca de Mesegosillo in Hoyos del Espino (Ávila), on the 27th of July. Tickets are 32€ + costs in advance, and 35€ + costs at the box office, and you can purchase them at:

XANDRIA: "Neverworld's End Tour" in Spain in November!

Germans XANDRIA will be in Spain in late November presenting their last album, "Neverworld´s End". Great chance for all gothic/symphonic metal fans if you happen to be over here by then (or want to take advantage of the situation to come for a gig and some holidays). 

The band was already in Spain as the supporting act for Epica and Kamelot in these bands' last tours in our country. This time Xandria are visiting us for the first time with a headline tour, "Neverworld´s End Tour", where we'll be able to enjoy Xandria's full show.

Xandria was founded in 1997 by guitarist Marco Heubaum, and after several changes in the line-up, they presented their album “Neverworld´s End” in 2012, led by the spectacular lyrical soprano Manuela Kraller,  a real delight for your senses.

Xandria's "Neverworld´s End Tour" tourdates in Spain are:
